remembering veterans during the holidays

In November of 2020, I was taking a break while working to restore a Veteran's marker that didn't have any family locally and not sure if any at all.  With him and a few others in mind, I thought to myself that I would get some wreaths to place on their gravesites for Christmas.  I was currently working in 8 different cemeteries at the time and the more I talked with Family and Friends, I decided to place wreaths on all the Veterans in these cemeteries.  What started out as a few individual ones ended up over 500 wreaths being placed that year.  The following year, I added a number of smaller cemeteries that was on the route between the initial 8 cemeteries from 2020.  We ended up with close to 600 wreaths at 19 cemeteries.  We have continued to grow our Operation Wreath project each year and this past year, 2024, we placed over 1700 wreaths at 51 cemeteries in 8 different counties in central Mississippi.

One goal I have is to cover all Veteran graves at each of the cemeteries  in our home county of Smith.
